Tropical Storm Fay
Tropical Storm Fay has left a great deal of devastation in her path even though she did not make it to hurricane strength. At this time she has again stalled out and is sitting down to dump more rain on our already saturated ground. Many have had to flee their homes because of flooding. Some will not be able to return to their homes because of the damage caused by flood waters. Schools are having to be closed to be used for shelters, and then the high wind gusts from 35 - 55 miles per hour make driving extremely dangerous and the officials are telling everyone to try and stay off the roads. Please remember all of these people in your prayers and add them to your prayer lists at home and at church. At this time the weather reports are telling us to stay tuned that Fay may by with us until tomorrow afternoon. I have been in Florida for 28 years and my mother has been here longer and neither of us can ever remember a storm that has stuck around like this one to cause so much grief for so many. In several areas they have received as much as 20 inches of rain this week. Our Governor Charlie Crist toured parts of our state today and saw the damage caused by the flooding. We are now being considered a disaster area and in need of supplies for those whom have been displaced. We have been told that the best way to help is through donations to the American Red Cross.
